The mobile app incubator Super Unlimited is known for its portfolio of top-ranked apps, which includes its flagship product, VPN Super Unlimited Proxy. Boasting more than 100 million downloads and a stronghold in both the iOS and Android ecosystems, VPN - Super Unlimited Proxy is a dominant player in the mobile VPN space.

As the VPN Super team looked to expand into the Windows market, however, they faced a new challenge in web marketing. Unlike the mobile space, where app store visibility drives downloads, users typically discover Windows products through search engines.

Recognizing this, Super Unlimited’s CEO, Tanuj Chatterjee, knew that building a robust web presence was a must to get VPN Super’s app in front of more users. For that reason, Tanuj and his team partnered with daydream in June 2024 to experiment with programmatic SEO (pSEO)—a data-driven strategy that uses automation to create a large volume of highly targeted web pages.

Within just four months of collaborating, VPN Super saw organic traffic climb by more than 400% month over month. In less than a year, the site had successfully gone from zero to over 187,000 visitors per month. To top it off, the traffic has also translated into bottom-line impact, generating over 1,600 app downloads per month. We explain how in more detail below.

❗ The problem: competing in the crowded VPN market with a brand new site

Thanks to increased awareness about cybersecurity, the global VPN market has exploded in the last decade; in fact, it’s projected to reach $350 billion by 2032. Unfortunately, from a content marketing perspective, this also means the online VPN world is a crowded space.

As Tanuj explains, “There are a lot of copycats around with similar-looking logos and similar-sounding names.”

Without an existing web presence, competing in marketing against established Windows VPN companies was an uphill battle for VPN Super. Yet as daunting as starting web marketing from scratch seemed, Tanuj felt it also presented an opportunity for creative experimentation. Since there was no brand narrative or legacy content to work around, VPN Super had the freedom to explore different strategies to drive organic growth.

As a self-described “product guy” with a background in engineering, Tanuj recognized the advantages offered by LLMs in terms of content creation—especially for a small team like his, where no one was dedicated to content.

“Our site was plain vanilla,” he says. “It was a new site, and I thought ‘Let’s start with pSEO. We can always complement the programmatic content [later] with high-class, high-quality editorial content.’”

Making the programmatic SEO route even more appealing was daydream CEO Thenuka Karunaratne’s familiarity with the VPN space from his time at Pango, giving Tanuj extra confidence as VPN Super ventured into pSEO.

⚡ The solution: partner with daydream for VPN Super to target various VPN use cases

Look up “VPN” in an SEO tool like Answer the Public, and you’ll find hundreds of search queries about these networks: how to use them, what apps they work for, what countries you should use them in, and so on.

Given the broad nature of the VPN space, there was no shortage of content topics for VPN Super and daydream to explore. To kick things off then, daydream first identified high-potential opportunities for pSEO, creating several programmatic templates tailored to different user intents relevant to VPN usage.

However, before scaling any template, daydream tested each for a month. The goal was to validate the templates’ effectiveness before the team scaled the most successful approaches. We cover two of the winning templates below in more detail.

Is [Movie / TV Show] On [Streaming Platform]?

  • URL structure: vpnsuper.com/blog/is-[movie/TV show]-on-[platform]
  • Keywords: “is john wick on netflix,” “is fast and furious on disney plus”
  • Example: Is Ted (2012) on Netflix?

One use case for VPNs is streaming global content—in other words, watching movies and television shows that are available in another region. After all, what’s available on Netflix or another streaming platform in one country isn’t necessarily available in another.

Because of this, many users actively turn to Google to find out whether their desired content is available on a specific platform. For VPN Super, this presented a rich top-of-funnel content opportunity: the “Is [Movie / TV Show] On [Streaming Platform]?” template.

This template strategically connects users’ intent to watch specific shows/movies to VPN usage by explaining how to access global content. Even better, it offers VPN Super’s product as a solution

Is [App / Website] Banned in [Country]?

Like the previous “Is [Movie / TV Show] On [Streaming Platform]?” template, the “Is [App / Website] Banned in [Country]?” template was designed to capture top-of-funnel traffic from users looking to access global content. However, instead of focusing on streaming content, this template looks more broadly at popular apps and websites.

Each page provides an explanation for why a given app/website is blocked in a particular region, and then gives actionable steps for accessing it.

📈 The results: explosive growth in organic traffic and keywords

Since Super Unlimited reached out to daydream over the summer, daydream has created more than 3,300 pieces of programmatic content for VPN Super. Despite the challenge of having a new domain and facing fierce competition in the VPN space, SEO results began materializing within four months of the partnership.

Impressively, these wins came even against the backdrop of the tumultuous SEO landscape at the time, as multiple core updates from Google took place in the summer and fall of 2024.

Organic traffic increased by over 400% month over month, reaching more than 187,000 visitors in January 2025. Moreover, the latest data show a strong continued upward trajectory, with traffic projected to double in February.

According to Ahrefs, VPN Super ranks for over 35,000 keywords—a significant leap from zero less than a year ago. From December 2024 to January 2025 in particular, the number of organic keywords increased by more than 361%.

Reflecting on the partnership, Tanuj shared, “I was expecting growth, but the growth numbers did surprise me. They are better than I expected, for sure.”

Beyond boosting traffic and keyword rankings, daydream’s content has also generated tangible business results. Turning organic visitors into real users, it drives more than 1,600 downloads of VPN Super’s app per month.
